Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 2026
Trustle, a product of Zortle Labs ("we", "us", "our"), is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what rights you have over your data when you use our platform at trustle.in.
1. Information we collect
Account information
When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and phone number.
Usage data
We collect information about how you interact with the platform — pages visited, searches performed, listings saved, and contact requests sent. This helps us improve the service.
Property listing data
Landlords who list properties provide address details, photos, pricing, and room details. This information is checked at an in-person verification visit by our team and, once approved, displayed publicly on the platform.
Communications
When you contact a landlord or send us a support message, we store the content of those communications to facilitate the conversation and for safety purposes.
2. How we use your information
To operate the platform
We use your information to provide, maintain, and improve Trustle — including matching tenants with listings, enabling direct owner contact, and processing listing verifications.
To verify listings
At the verification visit, our reviewer may ask to see proof of ownership, such as a building tax receipt or electricity bill. It is only looked at — we record which kind of proof was shown and whether the name matched, but never copy or store the document itself.
To communicate with you
We may send you account notifications, listing updates, and (where you have opted in) news about new listings in areas you have searched. You can unsubscribe at any time.
To ensure safety
We use usage data and reported content to detect and remove fraudulent listings, spam, and abuse.
3. Information sharing
With other users
Your contact details are only shared with landlords when you explicitly click "Contact Owner" on a listing. Landlords' phone numbers are only visible to signed-in users. We never publish personal information publicly without consent.
With service providers
We use trusted third-party services for authentication, file storage, and analytics. These providers process data on our behalf and are bound by data protection agreements.
Legal requirements
We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or government authority. We will notify you where legally permitted to do so.
We do not sell your data
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes. Ever.
4. Data retention
Account data
We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion at any time (see Your rights below).
Listing data
Property listings and associated documents are retained for the duration of the listing and for a reasonable period thereafter for dispute resolution purposes.
Communications
Contact messages between tenants and landlords are retained for 12 months after the last interaction, then deleted.
5. Your rights
Access and correction
You can view and update your account information at any time from your dashboard. If you believe any information we hold about you is incorrect, contact us to have it corrected.
Deletion
You can request deletion of your account and associated personal data by emailing hello@trustle.in. Note that some information (e.g. transaction records) may be retained for legal compliance.
Opt-out
You can opt out of non-essential communications at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email or by updating your notification preferences in your account settings.
Data portability
You can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you in a machine-readable format by contacting us at hello@trustle.in.
6. Cookies and tracking
Essential cookies
We use cookies to maintain your login session and remember your preferences. These are strictly necessary for the platform to function.
Analytics
We use privacy-respecting analytics to understand how users interact with the platform in aggregate. No individual tracking profiles are built or sold.
7. Security
How we protect your data
We use industry-standard encryption for data in transit (HTTPS) and at rest. Access to personal data is restricted to authorised team members on a need-to-know basis.
Breach notification
In the unlikely event of a data breach affecting your personal information, we will notify affected users and relevant authorities as required by applicable law.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or a prominent notice on the platform. Your continued use of Trustle after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
